Target Audience

The educational design of this activity addresses the needs of healthcare professionals who care for people living with HIV, including MDs, NPs, PAs, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, peer educators, medical assistants, and office staff.

Program Overview

This enduring webinar aims to educate clinicians about the dangers of patients becoming lost to HIV care and strategies to re-engage them. Balancing existing data and clinic models with their own success stories, Drs. Kellie Hawkins and Stacey Trooskin present data on consequences of patients becoming lost to follow-up, identifying patients lost to follow-up, strategies to bring patients back into HIV care, and optimal ways to collaborate with community partners. Further, additional videos about hard-to-reach populations and the use of trauma-informed care are available on the landing page.

After completing this activity, the participant should be better able to:

  • Discuss risk factors and strategies to identify people with HIV who are lost to follow-up
  • Identify effective communication and educational tactics to improve re-engagement among people with HIV who have fallen out of care
  • Collaborate with community organizations to improve re-engagement in care for people with HIV
